A Parent's Warning: This Critical Error Turned Our Online Glasses Order Into a Nightmare 😡
I'm writing this as a warning about my terrible online shopping experience. I thought I was getting a great deal for my son, but it turned into a complete nightmare. We ordered a pair of glasses for our 12-year-old after he found them using the virtual try-on, but he said he had trouble seeing with them. We went back to the doctor to check everything, and he informed us that the pupil distance (PD) was incorrect. The glassesusa site does not prompt you to provide the PD number, and if you don’t know to provide it, they will just assume a value. This critical error forced me to try and resolve the issue with their customer service, hoping for a simple fix.
Customer: Hello? I ordered glasses for my son and the prescription is wrong. His doctor says the pupil distance is incorrect because your site never asked for it.
CS Rep: I'm very sorry to hear about the trouble with your son's new glasses. I can definitely help you with an exchange. Could you please tell me the correct PD value?
Customer: The doctor said it's 58. But the bigger problem is your process. I couldn't reach a human on the phone, and now you want us to send the glasses back and leave my son without any while we wait? Your email support is too slow for that.
CS Rep: I sincerely apologize for the communication difficulties and the inconvenience. I can start the exchange process immediately. If you can provide the return tracking number once you've sent them, I will personally ensure your new order is expedited.
